PATAGONIAA

This will be one of my favorite posts.

I have never traveled a lot. I know very little about some places of my country and I have never traveled abroad. However, I could finally leave the central zone of the country and I was going to visit part of the Chilean Patagonia. The trip was planned by my girlfriend and me the last year, because she has an aunt who lives in Coyhaique. So, as we wanted to go on a trip that summer, it was the perfect place to go. We invited one of our best friends, Javier, and put together the three of us and left on February 7th.

The most exciting thing started from the beginning at the moment of boarding the plane. I had never flown, so I enjoyed it as I were a child during the 2 hours
over the clouds. When we got to Coyhaique, we spent two days preparing the roadmaps. After doing that, we started backpacking in wonderful places. Our transports were cars and we hitchhiked to stop them. It was a good idea indeed, haha. We visited Cerro Castillo and the wonderful Tamago Lagoon. We went across the Patagonia for 4 hours up to arrive at Puerto Tranquilo, where we ate popular barbecues. Then, we slept one night in Puerto Bertrand and arrived in Cochrane (a “large” city in the Patagonia). We were there just for a day to take a bus to get to our austral destiny: Caleta Tortel. No doubt, it was the most impressive thing because it is a town made of wooden footbridges, without streets and sidewalks. We also visited the Island of the Dead with an amazing story there. Coming back toward the north, we went across Cochrane, Chile Chico and crossed the enormous General Carrera lake to get to Puerto Ibañez and finally Coyhaique.

Those 20 days were absolutely marvelous. I would repeat the same experience but going to the southern part of the country.

Silvio...

Always is complex talk about the music that one listen to. Certainly is because the linkage with feelings is direct, so we do not listen the same things ever.

Curiously, when I read the post of the teacher in her blog I think much more quickly in the music, the sogs and the bands that doesn't like me. Well, most of them doesn't like to the most people... like Maná, as an example. Then I remember the first bands that since a child liked me and go over the stages of music it's very interesting. Much times we liked the music that we should like because everyone like.

So, today I want to tell you about who I'm listen the most songs in the last weeks: Silvio Rodriguez. In my house always heard really loud the weekends, when my mother do home stuff. Certainly it wasn't the only what we heard, but it was always present.

Today I heard it with others ears. Are there lyrics and there songs that much times give me  the necessary strength to keep going every morning thinking that other world it is possible, where we have to burn the sky if is it necessary for living for any house, for any man.

Silvio show us a music much more militant and committed with the revolution than others, that without pretend  to be musically exquisite, gave to the heart the strength that sometimes lack.

Schools kill creativity

Hi everybody,

Today I write about one video, this video ccc. Really, I write about the most important idea, the central idea.

Ken Robinson (PhD in Education, University of London) presents the notion of that school kill creative of children’s. This sentence is shared for different authors, theorists, sociologist, and educator from distinct perspective.

Today is possible say that school it a system whit two faculty: (1) sociability, better say, deliver to boys and girls the necessary ways to live in a particular society and (2) differentiate the capacities of the persons in a particular society.

This system, this educative model is necessary to this society, how say Ken Robinson. It’s obviously, this inequality society by means of their educative system –and their institutions, like schools, university and others- promote not reflexive works. Automates.

So, don’t are significant the artist, the critical through, the creative…

The worst of all this is how the creative is kill by means of education. Is more important learn mathematics, science or any knowledge to make money.

Terribly, are the individual promotion social reigns as ideology, and not is the class conscience not as drive for social transformation.

My presentation

Hello everyone,

Today I'll write about my next exposition in english III asignature. The subject that I'll work  it's about a specifict topic of sociology: Sociology of education.

I choose this theme because sinces two years ago I have been developed my university works about this topic. It has been so interesting for me, I feel that it is one of the topics of applicated sociology more related to understand the social reality of Chile in our days. I wondered: How the education that is delivered to the childrens today affects in the formation of our society? That's why I have been working on the concept "School", it has a extensive developing in the sociology tradition since Durkheim in the XIX century til the actuality.

I will focus principally on expose what it is the sociology of education, wich is it aim and method, and I will try to approach in what I have been  trying to specialize: The resistance theory, with authors like Paul Willis anf Henry Giroux.

I hope that my exposition make clear what I'm working on and why I'm interested on

Why sociology?

Today talk about my career and ask why I decide study it.

-Why are you studying this career?
I’m not sure because I ingress to sociology. Always I thanked that really reason is not fund another career. Ok, this is not good ask, bur really I haven’t other. In my last year in high school I wanted be mathematics teacher in the future and y didn't know what happened. In “preu” I got to know the social science, not only sociology, also politic science, anthropology and psychology. I decide for sociology almost randomly.

- How do professionals in your area contribute to society?
This is a necessary question in special for my career. The sociology have to contribute to society, not only have to object of study. The principal contribution, from my personal perspective, has to produce knowledge useful to understand ours reality and historic process. The sociology has to be a tool.
- What tools will a professional in your area need to have in the future?
The professional of the sociology must have the ability to can describe and explain the social process in the Latin American society.

- What is your favourite subject?
Emm, are various. In general, the branch of theory and methodology I liked. The statistic also I liked. But, my favorites subject is Sociology of Education.

Ideology, Culture and School

For my course of investigation’s work in my four year of sociology’s career I will research about the correlation among ideology, culture and primary education. For that I will focus in institution of primary school. The relevance of seeing that, the link among three concepts, gives evidence of how exist a “society view” that determines the contents, organization, administration, finance and other things that the school needs to operate.

The interesting point is the analyze the cultural reproduction and material reproduction the condition of life of social classes. For that is necessary observe the social relation among students y how them in yours acts demonstrates the appropriation of behaviours that respond a certain “intentionality” ideological.

For this, I will draw the Marxist theory, specially three authors: Karl Marx for his concept of “social class” and “false awareness”, a Vladimir Lenin for his concept of “ideology” and Antonio Gramsci for his concept of “hegemony”. Logically, I will work whit other authors and research done.
Today I’m reading so much. I’m learning whit Henry Giroux and Paul Willis, for example. I hope do it a good research J
